LOCAL GALA BAKERY TO CELEBRATE A NEW CHAPTER ON SEPTEMBER 16TH, AS IT GROWS BIGGER AND GROWS BETTER IN HAMILTON!

In 2002, Gala Bakery began their journey in Hamilton as a family-owned, neighbourhood bakery fuelled by their grandmother’s recipes. In 2009, they made the leap to supplying their acclaimed mix of sweet and savoury products to Fortinos and 10 independent operations. Fast forward to today, and their sales have increased by 450% with an ever-expanding state-of-the-art facility that services Fortinos, Costco, Loblaw’s, Sobeys, Highland Farms, Longo’s, BakeMark, CTS Super Marche and 20 independent grocers. With the support of the provincial government and a personal recognition from Premier Kathleen Wynne, Gala Bakery was recently awarded a Local Food Fund grant ($241,000) to expand their facility and reach.

Threaded throughout Hamilton’s resurgence are stories like these, and we are delighted to provide local media with the opportunity to bring this good news story to their readers, listeners and viewers. As our city’s economic development continues to exceed goals and expectations, providing touch-points of success are a great way to personalize Hamilton’s upswing.

On Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 partners and members of the local media are invited to celebrate this new chapter, as Gala Bakery hosts an afternoon of flavours, facility tours and cocktails. “We have been in our new location since May, and it has allowed us to do more and offer more. We want to thank our partners for their support but also celebrate that Gala Bakery is growing bigger and growing better”, says owner, Jacqueline Janosevic.

The Open House runs from 2:30pm to 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 16th at Gala Bakery (190 Hempstead Drive (off Nebo Road), Hamilton, ON L8W 2E8. Jacqueline will be available for interviews upon request. We look forward to seeing you there!
